About this opportunity

Re-entry to midwifery scholarships are designed to support previously registered midwives in re-entering practice in the NSW public health system through supervised practice. These scholarships help midwives meet the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) for re-registration, which may include a period of supervised practice. The scholarships are valued up to $15,000 and are available to local health districts and specialty networks to support supervised practice. If the NMBA has allowed provisional registration with conditions, recipients may be employed during this time. The re-entry scholarships are linked to subsequent employment, requiring a commitment to permanent full or part-time employment (minimum 16 hours per week) in NSW Health for two years after successfully completing the NMBA approved re-entry to practice pathway and obtaining full registration. The program aims to facilitate the return of experienced midwives to the NSW public health workforce.
