About This Opportunity

The Reca Stone Postgraduate Scholarship in Legal Theory (Supplementary) was established by a generous donation from the Wolfensohn Family Foundation to support higher degree by research students in the field of Legal Theory. The scholarship is awarded through the Julius Stone Institute of Jurisprudence within the University of Sydney Law School. This scholarship can be awarded as either a Primary or Supplementary scholarship, providing a stipend allowance up to $55,000 per annum for up to 3.5 years for PhD recipients or up to 1.75 years for Master of Laws (LLM) by Research recipients. The scholarship aims to attract top candidates with well-developed research projects who would be competitive at top international institutes of higher learning. Recipients must be willing to undertake research in the discipline of Legal Theory and hold at least a Bachelor's degree with first class honours or equivalent qualification in Law. Preference is given to commencing candidates, though the scholarship may exceptionally be awarded to currently enrolled students demonstrating progress towards timely thesis completion and exceptional research achievements.
