About this opportunity
The Redwood Trade Scholarship program provides financial support to graduating high school seniors living in Josephine County, Oregon, or attending specific high schools (Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, North Valley, Illinois Valley, Glendale, or Rogue River) who plan to pursue trade careers. Through a single application, students have access to at least 15 different scholarship opportunities. $105,000 in awards were given out in 2025. A trade is defined as a career that requires specialized skills, typically gained through vocational school or apprenticeships rather than 4-year degrees. This may include associate degrees, vocational school programs, apprenticeships, or hands-on experience. Eligible trade fields include electrician, carpenter, plumber, automotive tech, welding and fabrication, dental assistant, medical assistant, pharmacy tech, massage therapist, cosmetologist, veterinary tech, firefighter, tattoo artist, culinary artist, and more. The scholarship supports students pursuing certifications, licensure, or 2-year degree programs at community colleges in their chosen trade field.
