About this opportunity
The R.A.P. Scholarship Award was founded by family and friends as a tribute to the late Mr. Reginald "Reggie" Antonio Poole, Jr., who was highly educated, talented, compassionate, and enjoyed life to the fullest. Reggie graduated from Fort Valley State University with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and was a first-generation college graduate who had a positive impact on everyone he encountered. To continue his legacy of academic excellence, this scholarship supports students who share Reggie's interest in Computer Science by awarding at least $1,000 annually. The scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors or current college students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or Information Technology with at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicants must submit a personal statement explaining their career plans in the Computer Science field. Preference is given to students enrolled at Fort Valley State University, Reggie's alma mater, and to selecting a new recipient annually when possible. Prior recipients may renew the scholarship for one additional year if they maintain eligibility criteria, and may reapply in subsequent years as long as they continue to meet requirements.
