About this opportunity
Horizons' Regional Freshwater Community Grant is a new contestable fund for community projects throughout the Horizons Region which encourage engagement with or education around freshwater. The grant supports non-profit organisations and individuals partnering with them for community-led projects that align with Horizons freshwater interests. Applications are welcome for initiatives that encourage engagement with freshwater in communities, create education opportunities around the importance of freshwater, and incorporate mātauranga Māori knowledge. Projects must be completed within 12 months and are typically one-off projects, though multi-year project grants will be considered. Horizons is committed to understanding and embracing communities' shared knowledge and experiences of freshwater to enable better freshwater management throughout the region.
