About This Opportunity

The Reinhold M. Schuster Graduate Scholarship is awarded in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo to honour an important scholar, teacher, and pre-eminent expert in cold-formed steel in Canada. The scholarship makes an important and visible contribution to the education of Canada's future leaders in civil engineering. Scholarship(s) valued at $5,000 are awarded annually to full-time University of Waterloo graduate students in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering who enter the Structures, Mechanics and Construction research area, with preference given to those conducting cold-formed steel research. The scholarships are awarded in conjunction with matching government programs such as the Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS), Ontario Graduate Scholarships in Science and Technology (OGSST), the National Science Engineering Research Council (NSERC), or other programs. If matching is not feasible, the scholarships will be valued and awarded at $5,000 each. Students are selected automatically by the Faculty/Department, and awards are paid over three academic terms beginning in the Fall term.
