About This Opportunity

This is a NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) fellowship opportunity focused on developing high-resolution satellite-based data products for NASA's POWER (Prediction Of Worldwide renewable Energy Resources) Project. The POWER Project provides customized data parameters from NASA's CERES mission, GEWEX Surface Radiative Budget project, and GMAO atmospheric reanalysis for renewable energy, sustainable building, and agricultural applications. The fellowship involves applying innovative methods to satellite and model datasets for developing higher resolution data products, evaluating them using surface measurements, assessing variability in space and time, and working with end users to develop new on-the-fly data products for solar, wind energy, and buildings infrastructure decision support. The research encourages the use of modern technologies such as machine and deep learning methods, data fusion approaches, and cloud computing. The NASA Postdoctoral Program offers unique one- to three-year competitive fellowships designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology at NASA Centers, NASA Headquarters, or NASA-affiliated research institutes.
