Research and partnership hubs for a healthy society

UK Research and Innovation (EPSRC) Original Source

About This Opportunity

This funding opportunity aims to establish large-scale multidisciplinary research hubs that draw on expertise across the engineering and physical sciences and health research community to support people to live healthier lives and prevent ill health. The hubs will focus on one or more priority areas: prevention and population health, supporting people to manage their own health, or novel techniques for early diagnosis. These research and partnership hubs will build and develop strategic research capabilities of importance to healthcare technologies. The hubs will complement and refresh EPSRC's existing portfolio from the first round of health technology hubs, filling strategic gaps in the UK health technologies research landscape. Each hub will undertake world-leading research programmes, public and patient involvement and engagement (PPIE), translation activities, leadership development, and skills development. EPSRC anticipates funding between three and five hubs depending on available budget and assessment outcomes. This is an invite-only opportunity for applicants who submitted successful outline applications.
