Research and Publication Grant

The Research and Publication Grant is offered by the Italian Art Society to scholars of any nationality holding the PhD or equivalent terminal degree. This grant provides funding of up to $1000, available for use in 2026 to fund or subsidize a research trip or a publication on any aspect of Italian art and architecture from prehistory to the present. Eligible publication expenses include purchasing image rights or as a publication subvention. Applicants must be IAS members at the time of application and use of the funds, and may not have received an IAS award in the previous two years. The grant supports scholarly research and publication activities related to Italian art and architecture across all historical periods.
