Research Support Fund

The Edinburgh Mathematical Society's Research Support Fund, established in 1983 to celebrate the Society's centenary, provides financial support for a variety of mathematical activities. The fund supports activities that benefit the broad mathematical community, particularly in Scotland. It can be used to support research visits, conferences, workshops, summer schools, publications, and provide guarantees for self-financing projects. The main criteria for assessment are academic merit and benefit to the mathematical community, whether individuals, groups, or the community at large. The fund may be used to top up support from other sources, and applications from non-members must be counter-signed by a Society member.
