About this opportunity
The Association for Industrial Archaeology offers restoration grants to support the preservation and restoration of industrial heritage sites, machinery, and structures. Since the scheme began in 2009, nearly £1,500,000 has been allocated to various projects thanks to anonymous donors. The grants are divided into two categories: Major Projects with a maximum grant of £30,000 (the AIA grant must represent at least 20% of total project costs), and Small Projects with a maximum grant of £10,000 (total project cost must not exceed £12,500, excluding volunteer labour). The scheme has supported a diverse range of industrial heritage projects including canals, railways, vessels, mills, mining equipment, and machinery. Regular updates on funded projects appear in IA News, the Association's quarterly bulletin.
