About this opportunity
The Rewi Thompson Undergraduate Scholarship in Architecture is an $8,000 annual scholarship established in 2018 in honour of the late Rewi Thompson, an alumnus and adjunct professor at the University of Auckland's School of Architecture and Planning. Rewi Thompson was one of New Zealand's leading architects and a world-renowned indigenous architect. The scholarship is funded by Architectus, whose founding directors - Patrick Clifford, Malcolm Bowes and Michael Thomson - were great friends and colleagues of Rewi from his university days. The main purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and support students of Māori descent undertaking study in Architecture at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland. The scholarship provides financial assistance to one Māori student enrolled full-time in any year of a Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) program. The award is offered annually with a tenure of one year.
