Rex Syndergaard Scholarship

The Rex Syndergaard Scholarship is a merit-based award offered to upper division or graduate history majors at Eastern Illinois University. The scholarship gives preference to candidates interested in pursuing the teaching profession, though all history majors are eligible. Selection is based on demonstrated scholarship and performance showing promise of distinguished service and success in the student's chosen field, as judged by the selection committee. Financial need is not considered in the selection process. Recipients may reapply in subsequent years if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria. This award is announced and awarded in the Spring semester.
