About this opportunity
The Rhodanthe Lipsett Midwifery Postgraduate Scholarship is offered by NSW Health to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander registered midwives in their postgraduate studies. Access to an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander midwife can significantly improve the health outcomes of Aboriginal mothers and families. One scholarship is offered annually to the value of $15,000 for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander registered midwife employed by NSW Health. The scholarship includes full registration to the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives conference (CATSINaM). The scholarship supports postgraduate studies and develops the skills most relevant to the recipient's midwifery area of practice. Named after Rhodanthe Lipsett OAM, an Australian midwife and author who was a passionate advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and strongly committed to increasing the Aboriginal midwifery workforce. The scholarship is offered by NSW Health in partnership with the Rhodanthe Lipsett Indigenous Midwifery Trust and the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives.
