Rhodes Scholarship for Australia

The Rhodes Scholarship is a life-changing postgraduate opportunity to study at the University of Oxford. There are nine Rhodes Scholarships available each year for Australia. Six scholarships are awarded by selection committees based in each state, each electing one Scholar. A Territories selection committee considers candidates from the Australian Commonwealth Territories. Each of these seven committees may nominate up to two candidates for consideration by the national Australia-at-Large committee, which may award up to three Australia-at-Large Scholarships. The first Australian Rhodes Scholars took up residence in Oxford in 1904, and many hundreds of outstanding Australians have been awarded the Scholarship since. The Rhodes Scholarship covers postgraduate study at the University of Oxford and is designed to bring together exceptional people who are impatient with the way things are and have the courage to act.
