About This Opportunity

The Richard Pratt Memorial Scholarship was established by the Okanogan High School Class of 1964 and endowed by Richard Pratt's sister, Judy Pratt Nelson, in 2024 to serve students of Okanogan High School in perpetuity. Richard Pratt was a 1964 graduate of Okanogan High School, an outstanding athlete in football and track, who earned a college athletic scholarship. He served in the US military during the Vietnam War as a helicopter mechanic and earned a Bronze Star for his distinguished service before dying in a training mission. This scholarship honors his memory by supporting graduating seniors from Okanogan High School who participate in athletics and demonstrate good citizenship through school and civic involvement. The scholarship is available to students planning to attend 4-year colleges, community colleges, or vocational/technical schools, with preference given to those who maintained at least a 2.5 GPA and participated in at least one sport during their senior year. Previous recipients may apply for a second year of funding, though preference is given to graduating seniors.
