Ridderstads Stiftelse provides grants to promote research in three main areas related to historical graphic research. The foundation supports studies in Swedish and Nordic press and newspaper history or other press research with a historical perspective, covering everything from individual newspapers to the press in general, including ideological content, business development, specific time periods, and key figures in the field. The foundation also funds Swedish, Nordic, or general European advertising history and related communication research, including information or propaganda spread through traditional marketing methods. Additionally, it supports research into the history of graphic technology and book craftsmanship, examining the development of materials, machines, and methods in printing, bookbinding, and illustrations. This includes studies of companies and individuals in the industry. The foundation primarily finances research where press and newspapers in a broad sense are central study objects.
