About this opportunity
The RJ 'Gus' Wiles Chemical Engineering Scholarship for Overseas Study supports domestic students at the University of Queensland undertaking overseas exchange semesters in chemical engineering fields. Established in 2011 and maintained by income from the Robert 'Gus' Wiles Scholarship Endowment Fund, this scholarship assists students who have demonstrated strong academic achievement and can demonstrate financial hardship. The scholarship provides financial support of at least $5,000 (limited to annual income from the fund) for one semester of overseas study. Applicants must have completed at least 16 units of an approved engineering program with a cumulative GPA of at least 5.0, and must have approval from the University to undertake an overseas exchange semester. The selection process considers academic achievement, the strength of the proposed overseas study program, personal qualities including leadership potential, financial hardship, and other factors relevant to future success in the chemical engineering profession.
