RJ Sabbatical 2026

Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ) annually announces project support for international sabbatical stays for lecturers and professors with the purpose of completing advanced research within the humanities and social sciences. The RJ Sabbatical provides funding for a research stay abroad lasting 6-12 months, enabling permanently employed researchers at Swedish higher education institutions to focus on completing long-term research projects. The program is designed to support established researchers in advancing their scholarly work through dedicated time away from regular academic duties. Applications open in March 2025 with decisions announced in October 2025, and funded sabbaticals can commence between December 2026 and January 2028.
