About this opportunity
This PhD scholarship offers an opportunity to conduct research in mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, and implement machine learning algorithms for the purpose of robot vision, perception, inspection and autonomy of service robots. The project will be completed in the STEM College and is funded by a 3.5-year scholarship under a Data61/CSIRO Next Generation Artificial Intelligence program in collaboration with Inergy. The successful candidate will work on developing intelligent control systems for recycling plant operations, combining mechanical engineering expertise with advanced machine learning techniques. The program includes a 6-month industry placement opportunity to provide practical experience and industry engagement.
