About This Opportunity

The RMIT Tech Ignite Scholarship is designed for commencing computer science, data science, information technology or software engineering students from diverse backgrounds. The scholarship provides $15,000 per year for four years (totaling up to $60,000) plus 40 weeks of paid Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activities (internships) with donor companies in the third year of study. The scholarship is funded by Pepperstone, Buildxact, Two Bulls, and Nintex, who wanted to create something meaningful to give back to the community, with a key focus on education for under-represented or under-privileged students. The program is designed to support students' access to education while offering valuable work experiences, so scholars graduate with a flying start - igniting their journey into IT. The scholarship specifically targets strong achieving students who identify as women, those receiving government low-income benefits, those living with disabilities or who are neurodivergent, students from interstate or rural/regional areas, those from foster/kinship care, and students from under-represented backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, recent migrants, refugees, and those from specific access program schools.
