About this opportunity
The Rob and Tammy Lipson Research Scholarship supports academically outstanding undergraduate or graduate students in the Faculty of Science at the University of Victoria who have an international research opportunity. This opportunity must be a research collaboration between UVic and an international academic, industry, or government research entity. The scholarship provides financial support ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 to help cover research travel and collaboration costs.
Applicants must be recommended by their advisor and/or department chair, and both the advisor/department chair and international collaborator must have committed funding to the student's research opportunity. Documentation itemizing the cost of the trip and verifying other levels of support is required, along with a letter of support from the advisor and/or department chair.
Preference is given to students, with first preference to undergraduates, who have demonstrated a commitment to knowledge translation through presentations at departmental symposia, participation in faculty-wide presentation events (such as HonoursFest, IdeasFest, or JCURA), or presentations at external conferences. The award aims to support international research collaboration and knowledge dissemination among Science students at UVic.
