About this opportunity
The Robert Alexander McMillan Shields Memorial Scholarship in Canadian History was established in memory of Bob Shields, who was a professor at the University of Calgary from 1960-1988, and was professor emeritus until his death in 1993. The scholarship is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student entering third or fourth year in the Faculty of Arts, majoring in History. The award recognizes academic merit and requires that recipients have successfully completed a minimum of two half courses in Canadian history. This scholarship honors the legacy of Professor Shields and supports students pursuing the study of Canadian history at the University of Calgary.
