About this opportunity
The Robert and Rosemary Walsh Scholarship provides financial support to students who identify as first in their family to attend university, to undertake undergraduate studies at the Australian National University. A student is considered first generation (or first in family) if their parents or guardians have not attended university. This includes students with an Out of Home Care (OOHC) experience. The scholarship offers a stipend of $10,000 per annum paid in equal instalments at the beginning of each semester for up to five years. Funding for this Award has been provided by alumni Robert and Rosemary Walsh. Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science and a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours), while Rosemary graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature and psychology and was a foundation resident of Bruce Hall. The objective of the Award is to support first-generation university students in achieving their educational goals at ANU.
