Robert E. Gernant Memorial Scholarship

The Robert E. Gernant Memorial Scholarship provides support for an undergraduate Geosciences major engaged in field camp or field coursework. This scholarship is specifically designed to assist students participating in essential field research activities within the geosciences discipline. Preference is given to students studying paleontology, reflecting the memorial nature of this award and honoring Robert E. Gernant's interests in this field. The scholarship provides $1,000 in financial support to help offset the costs associated with field work requirements, which are a critical component of geosciences education. Applications are accepted through February 1 and awards are paid the following fall semester. Students graduating in spring or summer are ineligible for this award due to the timing of disbursement.
