About this opportunity
The Robert L. and Luz M. Whittenbarger Sociology Scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in Sociology at Eastern Illinois University. The scholarship requires recipients to have completed at least nine semester hours of credit in Sociology with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and a major GPA of at least 3.0. Financial need is a primary consideration in the selection process. The award is given to the applicant with the highest major GPA, and in cases where multiple students equally qualify, the decision is based on the student with the greatest number of completed semester hours in the Sociology major. Only one award is intended to be given annually, and it is disbursed in the Fall semester. Students are automatically considered for this scholarship based on their completed General Application through the university's scholarship portal.
