About This Opportunity

The Robert Patrick (Bob) Ryan Memorial Award was established in 2021 to assist students who are active members of the University of Regina Rams football team and pursuing a degree in any faculty at the University. During a career at Ranch Ehrlo Society that spanned more than 35 years, Bob Ryan was integral to the growth and success of that organization and made a huge positive impact on the lives of thousands of young people. With undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology from the University of Regina, Mr. Ryan also mentored many of his professional colleagues and for a number of years taught police recruits at the Saskatchewan Police College. An avid sports fan and coach, and above all a devoted husband and father, Mr. Ryan proudly supported two of his children, sons Jon and Steve, as members of the University of Regina Rams. Sadly, Mr. Ryan passed away on December 1, 2006 after a fight with cancer. This award has been established to honour Bob Ryan. The awards are funded from contributions made by the Bob Ryan Foundation established by the Ryan family in memory of Bob and by the Gear Up with Jon Ryan Foundation. The award will be awarded to a University of Regina graduate student who is pursuing a degree in any faculty, is a member of the University of Regina Rams football team, and must appear on the team eligibility roster in the academic year in which the award is presented.
