About this opportunity
The Roderick Stirling MacDonald Scholarships for the School of Climate Change and Adaptation are entrance awards granted to ten (10) students entering their first year of UPEI's School of Climate Change and Adaptation. Recipients must have achieved an 80% or greater academic average in the previous year of study and have demonstrated a passion for improving the effects of climate change. These scholarships were established through a significant planned gift from the Estate of H. Ruth MacDonald, who remembered UPEI in her Will in memory of her husband Roderick. In December 2017, UPEI received a $1,000,000 gift from the Estate, with an additional gift received in summer 2019, bringing the total to over $1,200,000. This substantial contribution supports academically gifted undergraduate and graduate students at UPEI, providing them with skills that will enhance local and global communities.
