About this opportunity
The Roger S. Compton Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Dr. Roger Steven Compton, a dedicated educational leader who felt it was both a privilege and an honor to be a school superintendent. It brought Roger great joy to provide the best possible education for students, and he enjoyed all aspects of life from sports to the performing arts. This scholarship keeps alive his spirit for helping students realize their dreams through a quality education. The scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors from Kenton Ridge High School or Northeastern High School in Springfield, OH, who demonstrate an appreciation for the arts through participation in music, art, theatre, writing, or dance. Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and plan to attend a college or university in the U.S. either full- or part-time. Two scholarships of $2,000 each are awarded annually, one for each eligible high school.
