About this opportunity
The Rotary Club of Port Nicholson is offering up to two grants for attendance at RYLA 2026, a four and a half day residential high energy programme to develop lower North Island young leaders between the ages of 18 and 24. RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) is an intensive leadership experience that recognises, encourages and educates current and future leaders. The programme will be held during 14-18 January 2026 at St Matthew's Campus in Masterton, New Zealand.
RYLA is an invaluable programme that brings together individuals to harness creativity, diversity, inspiration, energy and leadership to cultivate personal growth and develop long-lasting meaningful change. The aim is to empower young individuals to create positive growth within themselves and their communities through harnessing their leadership potential. This spirit extends beyond Rotary clubs, with RYLA having substantial goodwill within the wider community and attracting cooperation from community and cultural organisations, businesses, and civic and national leaders.
Registrations of interest are open from 1 August until 1 December 2025. The earlier the application, the more likely there will be space available. Submitting a registration of interest is the first step of the application process, with information automatically sent to the Rotary Club of Port Nicholson and RYLA. Successful applicants will be contacted to progress their application, and if their interview is successful, the club's endorsement will be passed to the RYLA Organising Committee.
