About This Opportunity

The Roy F. and Joann Cole Mitte Foundation Scholarship Program offers academic scholarships to high school graduates planning to attend a two- or four-year college or university in the state of Texas. The program provides annual scholarships of $10,000 for students attending four-year institutions and $5,000 for students attending two-year institutions. Scholarship applicants must reside in one of the counties and school districts included in Region XIII by the Texas Education Agency and must be United States citizens graduating from high school from a public, private, or home-schooled environment. Students must demonstrate academic merit with a minimum high school GPA of 3.0, strong community service involvement throughout high school, leadership experience at various levels, and financial need with an Expected Family Contribution not exceeding $10,000. The scholarship is renewable annually, requiring recipients to maintain a 3.0 GPA, complete at least 12 credit hours per semester, volunteer a minimum of 100 hours annually to qualified non-profit organizations, and participate in events scheduled for scholarship recipients.
