Roy W. Hill Music Scholarship

The Roy W. Hill Music Scholarship honors Roy W. Hill, a chemist and lover of classical music who passed away in 1998. His will provided for two generous four-year college scholarships each year for students from Chelan or Douglas counties in Washington who plan to major in music. Mr. Hill was a quiet, reserved man who loved his community and wanted to leave his mark on North Central Washington forever. This scholarship provides financial support for graduating seniors who are residents of Chelan or Douglas County and enrolled as full-time students majoring in music. The scholarship is paid over four years and requires annual renewal based on demonstrated educational progress in music, successful academic performance, and completion of forty hours of community service each year. Recipients must document volunteer hours using the Roy W. Hill Community Service Form and submit it with their assigned Follow Up Form to maintain the scholarship for subsequent years. This unique scholarship combines financial support with a commitment to community service, reflecting Mr. Hill's dedication to both music education and community involvement in North Central Washington.
