About this opportunity
Awarded annually to a UPEI student from a Commonwealth country in any field of study. The award is based on academic excellence and need. It seeks to recognize students who will use their studies to contribute to the development of their country of origin. Preference will be given to a student who is not normally resident in Canada. The Royal Commonwealth Society's purpose is to promote the increase and spread of knowledge respecting the people's and countries of the Commonwealth. This is pursued by the formation of regional branches and through a variety of educational activities. Awards provide incentive and recognize and promote academic excellence among the student body. They also assist students in overcoming financial barriers which otherwise could jeopardize the successful completion of their studies.
