About this opportunity
The Rural King Local Scholarship is available to Rural King employees or their dependents attending Eastern Illinois University. This scholarship supports students who demonstrate alignment with Rural King's core values including People First, Integrity, Attitude, Initiative, Teamwork, Accountability, and Continuous Improvement. Recipients must be admitted to Eastern Illinois University, file a FAFSA or Illinois Alternative Application, and be enrolled full-time.
Eligibility is restricted to students residing in specific Illinois counties: Coles, Douglas, Edgar, Clark, Cumberland, Shelby, or Moultrie Counties. The scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years (8 semesters) with continuous full-time enrollment and maintenance of a 2.5 GPA. The award amount is typically $2,500 or the maximum allowable up to the cost of attendance, with a typical minimum of $2,000 based on other awards received.
The scholarship is announced in the Spring semester and disbursed in the following Fall and Spring semesters. Students may also receive funding for Summer terms if they maintain eligibility requirements. Recipients must demonstrate their connection to Rural King through an employee or parent associate ID and explain in their application how they embody Rural King values.
