About this opportunity
Scholarships valued at up to $10,000 are provided annually to full-time graduate students registered in their first year of the doctoral program in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. Selection is based on academic excellence, requiring a minimum 80% cumulative average or equivalent in their current program or over the last two full-time academic years, as well as research potential. The Graduate Awards Committee in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science identifies candidates and selects recipients normally each Winter term. This fund is made possible by a donation from Russell Hiscock, BMath '75. Students are selected automatically by the Faculty/Department based on applications for admission to the program, and no separate application is required.
