RWE Butterwick Moor Wind Farm Community Benefits Fund

The RWE Butterwick Moor Wind Farm Community Benefits Fund supports local community groups, voluntary organisations and environmental projects in and around Sedgefield, County Durham. The fund specifically serves communities within a 3-mile radius of the Butterwick Moor Wind Farm, including the villages of Fishburn, Thorpe, Larches, Trimdon, Trimdon Station, Sedgefield, and Winterton. This fund provides grants of up to £5,000 for projects that improve public amenities such as community halls and sports facilities, environmental and wildlife projects including improvements to open spaces, activities to engage the local community, and energy efficiency or renewable energy projects. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with no specific deadline. Applicants do not need to be registered charities but must have charitable aims. Eligible organisations include registered charities and CIOs, community and voluntary groups with a constitution, and social enterprises registered with the appropriate body. The fund is administered by Point North (formerly County Durham Community Foundation) on behalf of RWE.
