About this opportunity
Following the extension of the Innogy Renewables UK Wind Farm on Hameldon Hill, a community investment fund has been set up to benefit local communities throughout the lifetime of the wind farm (up to 25 years). The fund wants to encourage local people to take pride in their local area and create a sense of community spirit. The fund supports voluntary and community groups working in the Hapton with Park Ward and the Gawthorpe Ward for projects focused on children, young people and families, environment, and education and learning. Priority is given to projects addressing social priorities identified in the Lancashire Vital Signs report as being the issues of most concern to local residents. The panel will also consider projects that are addressing the impact of the COVID pandemic, provided they meet the broad focus of the fund. Priority will be given to groups from the Hapton with Park ward in the event of over subscription.
