About This Opportunity

The Saïd Foundation are offering 5 Masters scholarships for students from Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria. One is available to a student at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and up to 4 for students in any other University of Sussex department. Successful applicants receive fully-funded tuition fees, a maintenance allowance, and economy travel to and from country of residence. Saïd Foundation Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and applications are carefully considered by officers and trustees of the Foundation and external assessors. The Foundation bases its decisions on the candidate's academic excellence, the usefulness of the subject to the candidate's home country, the candidate's leadership potential, future career intentions and their practical ability to make use of the knowledge to be gained in the UK on their return to the Middle East. Applicants must hold Syrian, Palestinian, Lebanese or Jordanian nationality and be permanently resident in one of these countries, with exceptions for Syrians residing elsewhere due to current circumstances. Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 or higher, meet English language requirements, demonstrate work or voluntary experience relevant to their field of study, show leadership potential, and have a clear career plan.
