Salvatore Privitera Scholarship

The Salvatore Privitera Scholarship was established by Salvatore Privitera, BS '88, in 2023 to support undergraduate students in Biomedical Engineering at the University at Buffalo's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to full-time students who demonstrate financial need and maintain good academic standing with both the school and the Office of Student Conduct. Preference is given to students with at least one parent who is an immigrant to the United States and who has become a US citizen or is in the process of applying for citizenship. Selected Privitera Scholars will be expected to participate in a mentorship program while receiving the scholarship, providing valuable professional development opportunities alongside financial support. The scholarship is renewable for up to three years, allowing recipients to receive continued support throughout their undergraduate career, provided they maintain eligibility requirements and funds remain available. The award amount varies based on available funding.
