About this opportunity
The Sam Henson Scholarship was established by the Federation University Australia Foundation to honor Associate Professor Sam Henson upon his retirement after 27+ years of service as Head of Campus for Ballarat. Staff and community members contributed to this scholarship fund. Associate Professor Sam Henson was a passionate advocate for higher education in Ballarat and a leading ambassador for the university. He joined the University of Ballarat as a staff member in 1996, completed his PhD in 2009 which explored high-growth small firms in regions, and advanced a Conceptual Framework for SME growth as well as a Typology of Regional SME Fit. His work helped design and develop the university's internationalisation strategy, and he forged strong relationships with local industries, government entities, and communities across Ballarat and Buninyong. This scholarship supports students studying at the Ballarat campus across various study levels including bachelor, honours, and postgraduate programs.
