About this opportunity

This call for proposals aims to stimulate new knowledge for societal transformation within nature's limits while ensuring good societies with high welfare and quality of life. It focuses on a green and just transition to a low-emission society that protects climate and nature with legitimacy and trust among the population. The funding supports research on societal, political, economic or cultural prerequisites and barriers for green and just transition. Projects must focus on at least one of six research areas: dilemmas and interactions between climate adaptation, nature conservation, jobs, and competitiveness; distributional effects of policies; circular measures for resource use; conditions for energy transition; climate adaptation measures; or challenges and opportunities in working life including skills and labor needs. Projects should be relevant to Norwegian conditions but may include international perspectives.
