About this opportunity
Samhällsbyggnadsbidrag is an annual grant provided by the Municipality of Ystad in Sweden to support village associations and interest groups in rural communities. Since 2020, the Community Development Committee has allocated funds for this grant program. The grant aims to enable beautification and quality-of-life improvements on land that residents, landowners, or village associations have control over. The program supports local engagement, increases well-being in villages and towns, strengthens new and existing meeting places, and contributes to increased physical activity. Eligible activities include physical equipment and beautification of outdoor environments that are accessible for use by many people. The measures must be sustainable and lasting over time (at least 1-3 years). Examples of eligible projects include bark walking paths, benches and tables, playground equipment, paint and materials, and bushes and trees. The action must be carried out on land that the village or villagers have control over, and cannot be performed on municipal land. Applicants are responsible for implementation and any subsequent maintenance. Approved grants do not mean the municipality has approved any permits that may be needed, such as building permits or shoreline protection exemptions.
