Sanctuary Scholarship 2026

The Sanctuary Scholarship is a comprehensive support package for students who have fled persecution and are seeking asylum in the UK. Royal Holloway University of London provides one scholarship annually to an eligible new undergraduate student in any subject. The scholarship reflects the university's commitment to supporting refugee and asylum-seeking students in accessing higher education. The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the entire undergraduate degree, regardless of subject area. In addition to tuition coverage, recipients receive £12,000 towards living costs to help support them throughout their studies. This financial support is critical as recipients are students who are ineligible to obtain funding from the Student Loan Company due to their immigration status. Applicants must be asylum seekers, children of asylum seekers, or hold Discretionary Leave to Remain in the UK. They must have the right to study in the UK and hold an offer to study an undergraduate course at Royal Holloway.
