About this opportunity

Sanctuary scholarships are a financial support package for students who may have difficulty accessing home fees due to their immigration status at the University of Plymouth. The scholarships are designed to support asylum seekers, refugees, individuals with humanitarian protection, and those with limited leave to remain in the UK who face barriers to higher education. Priority is given to individuals living in the Plymouth area. Each Faculty at the University offers one scholarship per year, meaning three scholarships are available annually. The scholarship provides comprehensive support including a full fee-waiver for the entirety of the undergraduate course, £1,250 per year toward study costs for the first three years, and a fully-funded pre-sessional English course to ensure scholars meet IELTS 6.0 requirements. The program is part of the University of Plymouth's commitment as a University of Sanctuary, supporting students from asylum-seeking and refugee backgrounds to access higher education and integrate into the university community.
