About this opportunity
The Sarah Gail Barbee Scholarship of the Gallagher Fund honors Gail Barbee, a long-time resident and teacher at Chillicothe High School who, along with her husband Bob, founded the Eastern Avenue Lumber Company in 1946. Gail was active in many community organizations including the Eastern Star, Rainbow for Girls, and Trinity United Methodist Church. This scholarship is being given by her nephew, Everett Gallagher, a 1979 graduate and valedictorian of Chillicothe High School.
The scholarship provides $2,000 to graduates or graduating seniors from Chillicothe High School in Ross County, Ohio. Candidates must attend a college or university in the United States, with preference given to those attending Bowling Green State University or University of Akron. The scholarship is administered through Chillicothe High School, which determines the application deadline.
