About this opportunity

The Saskatchewan Youth from Care Bursary provides comprehensive financial support to current or former youth in care who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree at the University of Saskatchewan. This award covers the full cost of tuition and fees for fall and winter terms, living expenses based on Saskatchewan Student Aid allowances for single students living away from home, costs of books and supplies based on the program requirements, and an additional $1,000 in the first year to help with initial expenses related to beginning post-secondary education. The program is specifically designed to support individuals who were or are under the care of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Social Services Child and Family Programs or a First Nations Child and Family Services Agency. Up to five awards are available annually, providing critical support to help youth from care access and complete post-secondary education. Preference may be given to self-declared Aboriginal students, reflecting the program's commitment to supporting Indigenous youth who have experienced care systems.
