About this opportunity
The Scape Toowong Residential Scholarship is part of the UQ Residential Scholarships Scheme and was established in 2025 in partnership between the University of Queensland and Scape Toowong. This scholarship provides financial assistance to domestic students experiencing financial hardship who are residing at Scape Toowong accommodation. The scholarship covers 35% of the annual value of a room in an 8-bed shared apartment, helping to reduce the cost burden of accommodation for eligible students.
The scholarship is available to both future and current UQ undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time in an approved program. Up to 24 scholarships are awarded annually for a duration of one year. Applicants must demonstrate financial hardship by providing documentary evidence such as Centrelink statements, ATO statements, or family income information. Selection preference is given to students from regional, rural, or remote areas, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons.
This is part of a broader residential scholarship scheme at UQ that aims to support students facing financial barriers to accessing quality accommodation while pursuing their university studies. Students only need to submit one application to be considered for all scholarships within the Aspire Scholarship scheme, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme, and the UQ Residential Scholarship scheme.
