Scholarship Fund of The Stephen H. Barmakian Family Foundation

The Scholarship Fund of The Stephen H. Barmakian Family Foundation honors the memory of Stephen H. Barmakian, a Watertown High graduate, World War II veteran, and talented athlete who played professional baseball. The scholarship was established to support students pursuing higher education at accredited four-year colleges and universities in the United States. The fund provides financial assistance with a strong preference for students from the greater Boston area, particularly from Watertown and surrounding communities including Belmont, Waltham, Cambridge, Arlington, and Brighton. Awards are need-based and multiple scholarships are available annually, with individual awards up to $20,000. Candidates must demonstrate strong academic performance with a minimum 3.25 GPA and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
