About this opportunity
ScholarSHPE is a comprehensive scholarship program offered by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) designed to remove financial barriers for underrepresented students, especially those from Hispanic communities, pursuing STEM degrees. Since 2018, SHPE has awarded over 1,500 scholarships totaling more than $6,000,000, actively opening pathways in the STEM education pipeline for members.
The program provides scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors beginning STEM undergraduate studies, current undergraduate students pursuing STEM degrees at community colleges or 4-year universities, students or professionals seeking technical certificates or graduate-level professional education, and graduate students pursuing master's or doctoral STEM degree programs. Applicants must be active SHPE members, maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, plan to pursue a STEM degree, and plan to enroll at an accredited college or university in the United States (including all U.S. territories) for the academic year.
The scholarship application uses a Common Application system that allows students to easily apply to multiple scholarship opportunities. Both SHPE-funded scholarships (open to all active SHPE members regardless of citizenship) and corporate-sponsored scholarships are available, with some sponsored scholarships having additional requirements including citizenship.
