About This Opportunity

ScholarSHPE is a comprehensive scholarship program administered by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) designed to address the financial barriers facing Hispanic students pursuing STEM degrees. The program provides scholarship opportunities for high school seniors, undergraduate students at community colleges and four-year universities, graduate students pursuing master's or doctoral degrees, and professionals seeking technical certificates or graduate-level professional education. Since 2018, the program has awarded over 1,500 scholarships totaling more than $6,000,000, actively working to narrow the gap in the Hispanic STEM education pipeline. Scholarship amounts range from $2,000 to $10,000 depending on the specific sponsored scholarship. The program requires applicants to be active SHPE members, maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, pursue a STEM degree, and plan to enroll at an accredited institution in the United States or its territories. The application process uses a common application system that allows students to easily apply to multiple scholarship opportunities. Corporate sponsors including Arup, Ansys, Northrop Grumman, Linde, Eaton, Veralto, Bechtel, Chevron, Intel, John Deere, Medtronic, and Raytheon provide funding for named scholarships with varying eligibility requirements.
