About this opportunity
The School of Computer Science at the University of St Andrews offers a range of scholarship opportunities funded by the University of St Andrews, external funders, and research councils. Postgraduate research applicants, including UK nationals and international students (including EU/EEA), will be considered for all scholarship opportunities for which they are eligible based on the quality of their course application.
Each scholarship comprises partial or full tuition fee funding and an annual stipend, with the value dependent on the funder. As a minimum, students receive stipends at the University of St Andrews rate (£19,775 p.a. for 2025-2026), subject to annual uplifts. Funding is typically awarded for 3.5 years, though this may vary depending on the specific scholarship and funding terms.
Shortlisted applicants are invited to attend an interview (online or in person) to assess academic excellence, research proposal quality, fit with research groups, and motivation. The School particularly encourages applications from female candidates and underrepresented minorities, having been awarded the Athena SWAN Silver award for advancing equality and representation.
